well, for those of you that haven't heard first-hand, I'm a little hard to get a hold of these days... there's so many people that just use myspace as an exclusive communication tool, that I'm definitely out of that loop - I haven't been on myspace more than once or twice a week, as of late... & it's alarming how many of those myspace users are content to believe that myspace is gonna be around forever...

well, anyways, I pretty much post here from my email, & as I've mentioned before, I have been trying to get more done online without being online - which has also brought a new issue...

I love Thunderbird... Mozilla Thunderbird... I can do so much with so little...

so, what's the problem?... well, I'll tell ya... yahoo thinks that we in the U.S.A. should have to pay for POP access (not the rest of the world, just us)... so everyone who thinks that they have the best email to reach me may want to rethink that for a second...
& then comes GMail... I'm not as sold on Google as I have been on Yahoo!, but it does seem to be the only serious competition Yahoo is likely to see anytime soon... either way, alot of things about GMail are truly refreshing & helpful in very individual ways... obviously that rant about GMail also means that they have free POP access (meaning I can do it all from Thunderbird)...

Now, I'm not giving up on Yahoo!, & I'm well aware that there are atleast two workarounds for this predicament, but me being online less means I am unable to devote extra time to making these little nuisances work...
so in the meantime, email me at my GMail address, which, many of you know, is likely to be GammaKrikit (!)... then the @ symbol... then gmail.com... (!)

I still check my yahoo address but it's not nearly every day like the gmail...
any workarounds I might not know about?...

well, needless to say, the holidays, yada yada yada...

& things have been culminating to such a point, which will mean various changes - which will possibly be explained when they happen...

on a lighter note, this is my 1st post attempt from Mozilla Thunderbird - if it works out, I can get more posting done whether I'm online or not (& the internet has been a pain lately)... not to mention, I can actually read & respond to my email (a simple thing which has dwindled alot lately)...
but also, I've been trying to find ways to be more productive online, while spending less time on the internet... hopefully this works out...

Christmas was fun (after all the pre-holiday stress, that is)... new years was kinda low-key, but I kinda wanted it to be...

it almost seemed like the holiday whirlwind was gonna take Kathy & Alex as swiftly as it had brought them, but we actually did get a bit of real time on the 26th (which was good)...

we had a nice visit with Adam & Jodie while they were here from Georgia - also got to see the munchkin at the dedication...

this is the 1st year in many that I've tried to do the Christmas card thing again - I actually did fairly well, all things considered... I didn't get everyone I meant to, but it's my first attempt with any real semblance of success, so I feel good about it...
I remember years ago, getting all these family addresses from my Grampa & meaning to start atleast some sort of basic correspondence - but I lost the addresses rather promptly... it was nice to get his card done this year (even if I still didn't get any of the other Thompson's - it wasn't for lack of trying, but hey, I'm new)...

well, I just got done hooking up the new stumble/digg/del.icio.us code on the weblog here (& over at chirping krikit)... the StumbleUpon thing was put on earlier in the week, but I just got around to putting up the other two... needless to say, I use StumbleUpon...
I'm fairly new to the other two, & I've always liked the simplicity of StumbleUpon... been using it for a few years... comparitively, way before I had even heard of Digg or del.icio.us ...
don't get me wrong, they seem like interesting sites, just new to me... & besides, StumbleUpon seems to be the one that needs more promotion at this point...

we got off to a late start, & the trip kinda got hijacked - add the fact that I couldn't eat or shave beforehand, & you got me disgruntled... atleast for awhile...

1st time I've ever been to the Getty that you couldn't get people to stay long enough to see the garden... amazing

& later after waking up, I have to go to the Getty - yeah, I know I just went there... it's for English class (yeah, I dunno either).... the funny thing is, the instructor's given us a criteria for evaluating a painting or two that may be bigger than the one's we used to get for various art classes... ah, well... atleast I like going to the Getty...
have you been?... you should go - seriously, it's free (save parking), & it's a nice environment - a museum you could actually go to for various reasons...

I guess I was exhausted when I posted the other day... so, here's the elaborated version...

after court, we were practically already in Chinatown, so we hung around a bit - went to this one shop so Joe could get a boba drink (although they hadn't made it yet), & we could get smoothies & bread-type items...
while outside of the shop, Jennifer ended up squeezing this plant, it ended up shooting water in my eye... kinda funny...
then on to the Getty, where we mainly focused on the fountains, garden, & architecture... & for some reason, all of our shoes were squeaking when we were indoors...
then home, via Sepulveda & Sierra...

did I just use that as the title? ha ha ha ha... well anyways...

so, I recently discovered that my art blog (along with this one) wasn't showing up correctly on Internet Explorer... thanx for tellin' me kids (!)...

I hadn't noticed because I use Firefox, & it always showed up the way it was supposed to... I know not everyone has caught on to the whole Firefox thing yet, but yeah...

so then, after noticing the problem a few more times, I checked the blogger help section with any keywords I could think of at the time - but to no avail... so I sent them a message asking why my sidebar was under the blog & what I could do to correct the problem...
I got a message back with a link to the correct help article, & promptly went about fixing my art blog... & it worked...

but low & behold this morning... the one you are currently reading (or not reading, depending on the annoyance factor of the way it looks) was not only incorrect in Internet Explorer, but also in Firefox, as well (!)...
of course I then went into the mode of trying to fix the damn thing, same as the art blog, but nothin' doin'... I adjusted the images that were too big for their fields (per the help articles instructions), but as of this writing, it still looks like the blog is standing on the sidebar's head - friggin' great...

maybe I pissed-off Blogger with my insolent questioning... on the other hand, it could just be a coincidental hiccup caused by all this updated & blogger beta stuff that's goin' on...

what the crap is up with all these simple things taking so much effort or ending up lacking...

*if this part (or parts) doesn't make sense to you, it's probably not supposed to:

books I haven't seen yet... eating... a green pig... a talk that's beneficial to one party only... never trust virgotic females that play the victim &/or devil's advocate (it's damn-near the only way they know)... one long thumbnail... I don't wanna wear a tux!... an empty but unused 'puter lab... pain is better than numb - period... an underhanded attempt at imposing one's opinion (& a suspect filter)... oh, where is my hairbrush... leave the socks alone!... & finally - yes, double-standards happen & no, it is never okay...

bad situations not withstanding - between crappy motivations & other selfishness in general, it's a wonder anything happens at all...
